“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us”
Reflection
Hebrews 12:1 reminds us that the journey of faith requires determination, discipline, and a willingness to let go of anything that hinders our relationship with God. The great cloud of witnesses points us toward the faithful examples of those who trusted the Lord before us, showing that a life of perseverance is possible even through hardship. Just as a runner removes unnecessary weight before a race, we must examine our own lives and identify the distractions, fears, habits, and sins that keep us from moving forward spiritually. God calls us to release these burdens so we can follow Him with greater freedom and a heart that is fully devoted to His purpose.
