“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.”
Reflection
A shepherd takes responsibility for the well-being of the sheep, leading them toward nourishment, keeping watch over them, and guiding them away from danger. When David describes the Lord as his shepherd, he expresses a personal confidence that God knows his needs and will faithfully lead him through life. We often exhaust ourselves chasing security through money, achievements, approval, or the approval of others, hoping these things will finally make us feel complete. Yet this verse invites us to discover a deeper kind of security in a relationship with God, whose wisdom reaches beyond our limited understanding.
